This Tuesday, the ISO file of the upcoming version of Windows called Windows 11 was leaked online. At first, the screenshots of the operating system were published on the Chinese Website Baidu, and soon it became viral in all the tech communities all around the world. Earlier, while Microsoft told us Windows 10 will the final version of Windows, the company recently has mentioned that they are going to end supporting Windows 10 after 2025.

Soon after the ISO file went viral, Microsoft tweeted about an event that is going to take place on June 24, 2021. Hopefully, in this event, Microsoft officially announces the sucessor of Windows 10. After hearing about Windows 11 ISO leak, Users are now querying how to download and install Windows 11?

Well, to install Windows 11, you first have to download its ISO file.

Disclaimer: Before proceeding further, let me tell you that the ISO file download link mentioned below has not officially come from Microsoft. As we said above, its a leak. Hence it might contain some bugs. So, be cautious about installing it on your primary device.

How to download and install leaked Windows 11?

If you are ready to install the Windows 11 21996 builds, you first have to download its ISO file. You can download it from here. Do note that it is a 64-bit ISO file. So, you can’t install it on your 32-bit Windows device.

Once you download the ISO file, You have to make it bootable on a USB drive. To do this, you need a USB drive of size at least 16GB.

To create a Bootable USB drive, you can use Rufus.

Now at this stage, I can assume that you have the below-mentioned things handy.

  1. 16GB USB drive
  2. Windows 11 ISO File
  3. Rufus

Steps to Install Windows 11

  1. Launch Rufus and click on select to choose the Windows 11 ISO file. Make sure your 16GB USB drive is selected in the device field.
  2. Leave the remaining fields as default and click on the start button at the bottom. After that, Windows 11 will be flashed on the USB drive.
  3. Next, Plugin your USB drive to the PC where you want to install Windows 11.
  4. Restart your PC and at the startup, press your boot key. For example, ESC or F9 keys are the boot keys for HP laptops.
  5. Now, choose the Boot Device Options from the Startup Menu and select the USB hard drive and press enter.
  6. As soon as you press enter, the Windows 11 install will start.
  7. It asks to either upgrade or clean install the Windows 11. I suggest you click on the No option to clean install Windows 11 because, as I said to you above, the ISO file is not officially verified.
  8. Choose your language, time, and keyboard input method.
  9. Click on Install Now.
  10. Click on I don’t have a product key.
  11. Choose your desired Windows 11 edition.
  12. Select the partition where you want to install the OS.
  13. Click on next to start the installtion process.
  14. After completing the installation, Windows 11 setup screen will appear to choose whether you want it to set up for personal use or work or school.

How to resolve the “This PC can’t run Windows 11” error?

It might be possible that you face an error saying, “This PC can’t run Windows 11”.

Note that it is a driver-related error because Microsoft has made TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot mandatory for installing Windows 11.

To avoid the above error, download the latest Windows 10 ISO file from Microsoft’s official website.

Once downloaded, right-click on the ISO file and click on the Mount option.

Now, open the mounted drive and click on the sources folder.

Select all the files present in the sources folder except the install.wim file. Copy those files using the shortcut CTRL+C.

Now, open the sources folder in the Windows 11 installation present in your USB drive and Paste the above-copied files using the CTRL+V option.

As soon as you paste the files, a prompt will appear where you have to choose to Replace the file in the destination.

Once done, you can proceed with installing Windows 11 by following the same steps I explained above.

Windows 11 could be available as Free Upgrade

Some reports suggest that Windows 11 could be available as a free upgrade to Windows 7, 8.1, and 10.

XDA developers spotted some product configuration keys in which Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 are mentioned.

It is not surprising if Windows 11 would be a free upgrade to the earlier versions because Microsoft has already done the same with Windows 10.

So, we might not have to pay a penny to get Windows 11 if we already have a licensed version of its predecessor.
